Four Core Topics for Financial Literacy

Each module addresses a specific aspect of financial inclusion, designed so community leaders can teach and share the content with others.

Who This Is For

Built for the People Who Build Communities

This program targets individuals who already hold trust within their communities: ejido delegates, neighborhood committee members, health promoters, teachers, and local organizers in Veracruz and surrounding regions.

The training equips them not just with knowledge, but with the language and confidence to explain financial concepts clearly to others. A multiplier effect that extends the program's reach.

How Each Session Is Structured

The program uses participatory methods adapted for adult learners in community contexts.

  • Group Discussion

Sessions begin with open conversation about participants' real experiences with banks and financial services, surfacing existing knowledge and misconceptions.

  • Guided Explanation

Facilitators present core concepts using plain language, visual aids, and locally relevant examples. Technical terms are introduced gradually with clear definitions.

  • Practice Exercises

Participants work through simulated scenarios: opening an account, identifying a fraudulent message, or understanding a bank statement. Learning by doing.

  • Reference Materials

Each participant receives printed guides in plain language. Materials are designed to be shared with neighbors and family members after the session.

  • Q&A and Reflection

Every session closes with open questions. Facilitators clarify doubts and participants reflect on how to apply what they've learned within their communities.

Where We Work

Reaching Communities Across Veracruz

The program operates primarily in the state of Veracruz, with sessions held in municipal centers, community halls, schools, and health clinics. The format adapts to what each community has available.

Urban neighborhoods and rural localities both participate. Sessions are offered in Spanish, and facilitators with knowledge of indigenous languages coordinate with local leaders when needed.
